Hi everybody, just wanted your general thoughts about the composition on this image, particularly with DOF. Too much? Not enough?.
Any other comments about this image that you think are pertinent are also welcome. Thanks in advance for your feedback. ![]() Towards the Light by Rick.Scheibner, on Flickr EXIF: Camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 Exposure 0.003 sec (1/400) Aperture f/2.0 Focal Length 50 mm ISO Speed 200 Exposure Bias 0 EV

I'm not too sure about the very front part with that piece of metal sticking up. For me, its acting like a barrier and stops the free flowing of your leading lines.

The circular object (slightly out of focus near the bottom of the image, between the tracks) is a little distracting but I don't think there's much you could have done about that. Overall I like it.

I would prefer more DOF. Since you only have a small segment in focus, I was looking to see why you would want that part in focus, but I don't see anything in that area that you wanted to highlight. I also find those large bolts and that broken circular object in the foreground mildly distracting.

Personally, I think the DOF is just nice for me, kinda prefer the horizon to be parallel at the top. I did a shot like this before, but never thought of doing it in B&W which is good idea btw...
