Default Sunrise in Maine

All comments and critiques are welcome and encouraged. I'm a big boy so don't feel you have to go easy.
An early Dec. morning in Belfast, Maine is when/where the photo was taken.

* Camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II
* Focal Length: 17 mm
* Shutter Speed: 6.16884 sec.
* Aperture: 22.62
* ISO/Film: 200
The photo consists of three bracketed images -2,0, and +2 EV. Then I used Photomatrix Pro to process them. I settled with one of the default settings after processing. Then in CS5, I used the Overlay bending mode on a copy of the background layer.
What I would like help, advice, comments on are the exposure of the foreground. To dark? Should I go darker, as in silhouette? Leave it alone?

On my uncalibrated monitor the exposure looks fine.

Good photograph of a very nice sunrise.

I think the exposure is fine. What I would do though is straighten the horizon line.

I agree, the exposure looks fine and I would straighten the horizon as well.
You have some halos around the trees (they are usually a by-product of Photomatix) and it looks a bit over-sharpened (at least in this small version). Nice work!

Thanks everybody for your thoughts. I will look into each and every suggestion and try to improve the photo.
