Default Church Doors

Very new to photography, welcome your feedback on composition and anything else you think would make a better shot. Sky was overcast.

no flash

I think it's a great idea, but your composition is a little off I think. You have the doors framed from the side which in my opinion doesn't really make the image pop. Maybe if you tried a head on approach, maybe getting a little further back showing the stairs and banister that lead to the doors. Or, maybe even try to capture the church itself...

The front on shot is much better! The lamp in the first one made cropping difficult and the angle, though interesting, only exacerbates the lens distortion. JMHO
