Default An Angel or a lens effect?

I took this picture tonight of paje by night hotel and this phenomenon occured. I took a photo literally afterwards and this lighting above the hotel did not appear.

There were no projectors, no lights behind the hotel, nothing; complete darkness and emptiness.

Is this a lens error/effect that created this or is it something mysterious that is happening here in Zanzibar?

I'll let you be the judge...

P.S ill feel like a complete idiot if it turns out to be a simple lens glare thing so be nice haha.

Did you have a filter on the lens?
Were you using a lens hood?

It looks like flare to me.

No filters. Yes, i had a lens hood. Has that got anything to do with it?

My aperture was also at f/3.5 and was shot at 10mm < perhaps that has something to do with it?

Looks like you were doing everything right.

I feel it is unwanted light, not necessarily in the field of view, hitting the front of your lens and causing the flare.
I don't think the aperture used has much to do with it, if anything..

Scientifically, it's lens flare.

But we can all wish upon a rising UFO once in a while.

Yeah, something happened that caused the palms to be all blurrt. Also, there is another spec of green in the left upper hand corner

The palms are blurry because it was a 30 second exposure and there was quite a lot wind, so the camera recorded the movements of said trees.

the other spec of light is definately a flare of some sort
