I tried to give myself a quick tutorial and read a few notes prior to this morning's eclipse, but as it darkened, the sky didn't get as light from the dawn as I thought it would. So, my photos toward the end were very under-exposed. I was struggling because I also wanted to get a sense of the mountains in there too... Here's where I landed.
![]() I'm wondering what others might have done? 50D, 70-300 IS lens 1/10s; f5.6 (the widest open the lens would go at 300mm focal length); ISO 400 (I tried 100 and 200, but those weren't coming out well at all... the sky was really getting too dark and there was not enough illumination of the moon to take it).
