This was taken while we are on our way back to home coming from a camping trip by the beach. I was amazed by the beautiful landscapes around that i just took shot by shot even though i am on a moving car. The moment got home, saw this one and was very happy that i got a decent shot. I'm just new to photography and i just bought my first dslr camera last month. I have no formal training and just going by through reading forums like this. Please comment on my shot.PP i used is LR3. Just a little tweek on the fill light and exposures coz i'm new also to LR3.
EXIF camera:Nikon d3100 lens: 55-200mm ISO:400 Focal Length:62 mm aperture:f/4.5 Shutter: 1/4000 no flash EC: 0EV no filter |

I like the shot! I like the 'road-trip' feel combined with the stunning mountains. I'm just learning Lightroom too & one thing I've been reading about recently, that might work well on this picture, is how to adjust the contrast to make the image 'pop'. There's loads of tutorials & videos on it.

It's a nice scene, but those light poles and signs along the left side are distracting. As I was saying in another thread, you're never going to get the ideal composition shooting from a car or from your balcony. It's not that easy to find a composition that emphasizes what you like about a scene and eliminates the distractions. Another reason to get out of the car is so that you won't have to shoot at ISO 400 and f/4.5 to be able to take a hand-held shot. A pro will use a good tripod and will start shooting a scene like this at ISO 100 and around f/11 for more DOF and better image quality.
Having a focal point like another car on the road would help and give the eye something to settle on.

Agree with everything Krusty79 said. You are shooting with such a big aperture when you can see that there is plenty of light there...so you had to use such a quick shutter speed, an ISO of 100 or 200 would have done wonders with this photo to give it that sharp crisp image. Hope some of this helps...keep shooting and posting!
