Heres a crude and quick shot I took when I was at the beach over Thanksgiving. I used a Nikon D5100 with a 300 mm telephoto zoom lens. The blue color reflecting off the pier is light coming from a huge ferris wheel close by. I think the pic is pretty cool but if I would have put more thought into it then I the composition could have came out better. What do yall think composition wise? what could I have done better? this was my first ocean shot and thought the water effect was pretty cool too. Kinda looks ghostly and kinda dreamy.

YesI used a tripod.
I took a few shots. I think this one in particular was a bracketted shot with 3 images set at 0.7. I may not have anchored the tripod good enough in the sand so there may have been some camera shake b/c of that. So with the long exposure mixed with bracketted I dont know it may have decreased the quality . |

Yeah, you have some kind of weird double imaging thing going on. The long exposure effect on the pier is a nice concept, but that camera shake (or whatever it is) ruins the effect.

I expect to see a ghost or skull and crossbones in this image, as it look like something from Halloween to me. Cool effect, but I think having a subject/focal point would help a lot.
