Default Zuanich Park Bellingham, Washington

I took this photo over the weekend and would love your thoughts on the composition. I am new to photography so I would love any pointers! Thank you for taking the time to look!

This is a nice example of practising shallow depths of field. Technically it is well executed, the plants in the foreground are at a nice angle and the line between land and water in the background is perfectly placed following the rule of thirds. As far as composition goes you have pretty much nailed it, well done. The only issue I have with it is that it doesn't really tell me anything interesting. Perhaps some human interest, like a couple strolling past or someone pushing a buggy (keeping the shallow depth of field) would give this picture a little lift. But for a beginner, well done!!
