Lightbulb Summer & Autumn Tree Collage

When I took the first shot here, of the summer sunset, I knew that eventually I wanted to do a "four seasons" collection of this tree. That, of course, will take a year. Luckily, this tree lives in the pasture behind my house, so I should have ample opportunity to take good shots for my collection. We have had beautiful colors in Oklahoma this fall, but this stubborn tree didn't want to turn until just this weekend. Anyway, here's my Two Seasons:

Tree collage

I am not looking for critique of the photos themselves, per se, but of the collage, and the idea behind it. Thank you!

I do love the idea! I think the only thing that I would keep in mind is to try and keep the same focal length distance when taking the shot so that the images are all symmetrical side by side. As it is, the first photo has more space than the second.

Also, the first photo looks like it was taken at dawn or dusk, and the second photo looks like it was taken at daytime. I think it's good to keep in mind the time of day that you take the photos so that you take them all at the same time of day.

Hope this helps.

I agree, I wanted to mention the different focal lengths myself. That being said, I like the focal length of the top photo better.
Btw, I know you're not asking for it, but your top photo seems underexposed.

I like the idea though!

What a great idea!!! I can see the finished product as a 2x2 square frame. I agree with the other comments... if you're trying to compare the seasons then the only thing that should be different between the photos is the season. Keep a note of the time of day, aperture value, foacl length and position of shot to try and keep the shots as similar as possible. It might not be a bad idea to bring a copy of the earlier season's shots out with you when shooting on your phone or even a printed copy so you can compare composition, exposure etc.

I am impressed and may even try something similar myself.
