If it were my picture, I would crop down so the moon is in the upper 2/3 of the frame, and then crop the left side to get a better proportion and not so much dark sky. It's kinda hard to agree with a moon shot where the moon is in the lower 1/3 of the frame due to the fact that we always think of looking up to the moon.

I love the effects you're getting with the fog/clouds. I would actually try cropping this into a vertical shot and try to get the moon in the upper 1/3. I think the trees would give a nice curtain effect if in a vertical format. Keep it up!

I like where the moon is. I like the emphasis on the dark sky... The moon is certainly 'the hero' in this shot, but to reflect upon the darkness that would be sans luna is a lovely thought....

BUT: I would rotate the image into a portrait layout. Just flip it to the right once. MAYBE pull in Just A Bit from the top right corner after....

OK. Now it looks upside down with the trees above the moon.

Or it looks like you crouched down to shoot under the overhanging branches.

Either way, it gives one something to think about.

Your right flytyer, I guess theres few different ways to look at it. Ive changed it a couple different ways and I like the outcome both ways. Thanks for the input and the help, it really made me think. Thanks again John

I like it: It makes me feel like I'm lying on my back looking through the trees!

IMO, the moon is overexposed. Even tho there are some clouds cutting out some light, full moon shots need much less exposure. *MY* standard moon setting is iso 100, f5.6, 1/250, your results might vary. This would make the pines black and reduce some of the clouds, but you could bring some of the clouds back up in post processing.
