Could I get an opinion on the composition of this shot, and could I have gotten a better image with a little lower ISO? Any advice would be great. Thanks Alot

Regarding composition: I think it's a nice photo, but I don't find it overly interesting. It's a nice close-up of a fall scene, the colours are great, but I suppose shooting fall is pretty much like shooting sunsets (often, images end up being nothing more than colour). I would like to see something of more interest, either a well defined subject (to which fall colours could serve as a great background), some interesting leading lines or patterns, etc... I think that a lot of this requires a bit wider scene which can include more elements to make it play.

As for your shooting technique, I had a look at large res. photo on Flickr, it is a bit blurry and there is some noise, but not much. Looking at the exif, you could have used a lower ISO and a slower shutter speed, provided it wasn't windy.

Thank you very much for your comments, I was trying mainly for the colors, and was hoping that the big tree in the background might help on the composition, but its really not visible enough to pull you in. Thanks very much for you help, you gave me some ideas.

I think you're kind of in-between a shot of the tree and a close-up abstract shot of the leaves. So, I think you could zoom out more to get more of the tree or zoom in more to emphasize the colors and shapes of the leaves. As it stands now, it's not clear to me which effect you wanted.

Yea I understand what your saying Krusty, no real definition on the tree or the leaves. I need either one or the other to help complete the photo. Thanks for the great critique. It really helps alot to have people in the know. Thanks again John
