Default Steeple -- noise problem?

I shot this yesterday. While I kind of like it, there seems to be a lot of noise in the sky and clouds. It was there before I did the b/w conversion but seems to be more of a problem in the b/w. I'd like to get suggestions as to how to either avoid or get rid of the noise. I did the conversion in Aperture.

Steeple

Here's the Exif:

Camera Nikon D80
Exposure 0.003 sec (1/320)
Aperture f/11.0
Focal Length 95 mm
ISO Speed 200
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Flash No Flash

Thanks for you time and thoughts.

Not sure how to do it in Aperture, but...

If you have Photo Shop or Elements, you can open your picture in Camera Raw (jpeg included) where you can adjust the Luminance to get rid of the noise you are seeing.

I just learned this trick yesterday while editing my nieces wedding photo's. Cleans up a picture real nice.

Thanks, Flytyer. I'll bring it into Elements and see what I can do with it. I appreciate the suggestion.
