First tip (the same one I got when I first posted :-) You need to include your EXIF data & perhaps be a bit more specific with your questions. Anyhoo I'm not a mod or an expert but hope this helps...
It's a composition made up of rectangles? So I'd rotate the image half a degree or so clockwise until the right-side line of the door is parallel to the right side of the picture. Also the colour looks quite muddy on my monitor. Use your image software to look at the histogram & pin down the black, white & middle grey areas of the picture (there's several tutorials on this on the DPS site if you search for them). If you can shoot the picture again maybe try taking it from waist height level to further accentuate the rectangular composition? Keep shooting mate, I'm a sucker for a mysterious door shot, it's always loaded with symbolism? |

I think the brightness of the top half of the door has fooled your camera's meter into underexposing the rest of the shot. If you shot RAW or bracketed your shots, you could make one image for the door and one for the rest of the image and blend the exposures using a layer mask. HDR would be another option.
In the future, it helps the rest of us if you post your exif data and tell us what you were going for in the shot.
