I really enjoy the Xs or cross shapes in this image, but I feel something different could be done with them. Perhaps a bit less in focus, or a change in tone or moving closer would improve them. My attention is immediately brought to the bright street below, but it isn't as focused as the Xs so my eyes still want to linger on them. It creates a bit of conflict as to what you want the viewer to be attracted to or look at in this image.
The idea behind it? Excellent job. I do get the feeling that I am up high when I look at this picture.

Konge - Thanks for the honest input. Looking back at the picture after having read your comment, I wish that is something that I took into more consideration and is something I'll try to pay more attention to in the future. In all honesty, there wasn't much of an idea behind the photo. I was on a photo walk of my own and found the emptiness of the city street intriguing. Thanks again!

The focal point of the pic isn't that clear enough...is it the street (as your title suggest) or the bridge steel (Xs)?... as for me...if the title is street, i will make it in focus.. the steel i will make it a bit blurry just enough to act as a frame or leading line to the subject matters. The subjects on the right (steel xs n building) a bit distracting too...

I really like it! It does have a film noir atmosphere but the story's surely there? A guy standing on the corner with what could be a rifle, taken from a sniper's viewpoint... Yet my eye still wanders round the picture looking for clues! Nice.
A bit more PP might be a benefit? |
