Default Sunset 11-02-11

After shooting about 50 pics of tonights sunset, I finally came up with this one picture I really like. I should have used an ND filter, but I didn't notice that until I seen this on the large screen and by then, the sun was already down.

Please criticize on composition, lighting, color or anything else you find wrong or right.

Mode: Manual
Aperture: f/5
Exposure: 1/320 sec.

Cool shot, I would consider cropping some of the area with no detail from the bottom

I agree that cropping a bit off the bottom could improve it. Other than that I think the shot is really cool. Love the way the sun is peaking through those clouds. The colors are perfect for my taste, but I'm sure others might have thoughts of their own.

Thanks for the kind words.

I ended up cutting off the bottom when I cropped for and 8x10 print.

I like the part whereby the sun is popping up between the cloud. If you place the sun more on the right, the composition would be more better and more vibrant colors.

Thank you. Of all the shots I took that day with varying levels of sun, I found this to be the best.

Since this was taken across the street from me, I will take that into consideration the next time I decide to take some more pics here. The only problem is, I was standing on the curb of the street shooting under telephone lines and a lot of brush. There is a park nearby with what could look like some interesting shots of a building I see from where I took this. I'll have to scope it out someday and post what I find.

Beautiful shot. The tree works very effectively here provide a foreground subject. While I agree about cropping some of the bottom, I hope you didn't take it all out. I think the black anchors the rest of image quite nicely.

For all of those who would like to see the finished cropped photo, here it is.

I've also included a landscape image taken a few minutes earlier.
