Default Fall Water (not Waterfall)

Hi there

How great is it to take pictures in fall? I love it

Now, I really like this picture. Still I think something is missing and I can't figure out what it is. Is it that the waves are not vertically centerd? Or is it that it takes a while to find the orientation on the picture (what's up and down)?

Please let me know what you first thought was when you looked at the picture. Thanks!

I find the waves drive the eye toward the reflected leaves, so I got curious as to what it would look like with the ripple as more of an aid to the leaves and less the subject it's self. I made a slight crop adjustment, and flipped it horizontally... Just another idea for you, all in all, great concept

Thank you so much Liz, sometimes I just don't think far enough.

I really like how you positioned the ripple. I made another version with the ripple positioned according to the rule of thirs but I didn't invert it because I like the yellow color so much :-) Thanks again and here's my new version:
