Default rainfall from rooftop

It started raining yesterday when I was about to step out so I figured, I'd try my hand on getting a picture ot the rain from the roof on my stairs. I also tried some of the critique i'd received so far so here's the information for the pix. Please tell me what I did wrong and what I did right.

Exposure: 2 sec
f/4.5
22mm
ISO 100

What I see is a lot of camera shake. With an exposure of 2 seconds, you will need a tripod or something else to keep the camera still. Any hand held exposure longer than 1/60 sec will produce blur. For some people, that may go as high as 1/125 sec.

What's your subject? There's a lot in the frame and I don't see anything that really catches my eye ...

Default Thanks

I guess I wasn't thinking about composition when I took the picture. I wanted to show the entire roof. It does have a lot of shake 'cos I was trying to avoid the rain getting on the cam. But I'll try another shot soon.

Thanks.

More comments are still welcome

I think the composition could work but you really need to get some crisp focus in there!

I do like the concept of catching the rain off the roof. Get a tripod (or, at least, something steady to set your camera on), use a remote (or the self timer) and try it again. I'd like to see what you come up with.

Just got my tripod, I'm all set to try again with all the tips I got here. All I need now is more tips and a little help from mother nature.
