Default Standing out

I took this picture in a near-by town. I have driven thru this place many times and the lake and the water tank always looked interesting. I grabbed my camera and went there 30 mins before sunset so that the tank is side lit by the sun and the sky is blue. I am sure this shot would have looked a lot different in mid-day light. I like the picture, but, wanted to get your opinion on composition? Also, would you consider the light poles in the picture to be distracting? I normally do not like light poles in my pictures, but, I couldn't have done anything here. The question is - do I have a strong subject to keep the little distraction away from the viewers eye? Please feel free to comment on anything you see wrong. I am a learning photographer and would surely benefit from your criticism.

Could you have stood more to the left to move the water tower to the left of the picture and get more of what looks like interesting trees and reflection on the right? Unfortunately the light coming from the left highlights the parts of the photo that are less interesting ...

Thanks for your comment. The other side actually has some other buildings and empty trees that looked too much crowded. So, this is the best composition I can get without adding more distractions to the picture.

You get style points for shooting this at the right time of the day. Take this at high noon and it becomes just another snapshot.

Your composition and exposure looks okay to me. I'm afraid I don't find that tank a compelling subject. I'm sure you have a different association with it because you see it every day.
