Default Storm Tide

I took the attached photo with my phone today while checking out the local tidal conditions.
I adjusted the levels with PS and then converted it to B&W.
After that I cropped it as my phone takes an irregular shaped picture.

My questions are...

1. Do the levels appear okay? I'm happy with the blacks on the rocks, but the background looks off.

2. Is the crop okay, with the rocks in the centr of the picture, or would it be better to re-crop to try and get it into the right third of the frame?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Since the background looks foggy, I wouldn't worry too much abut the levels there.

As for the crop, I think this looks ok.

I only wish you had taken your better camera and tripod with you. I wonder what this would have looked like with a longer exposure in color. With the right tinting, it could look pretty cool.

Yeah, I think some color or something else is needed. The rocks are nice, but it feels like it needs something else on the right side of the shot to balance it and it's not really there. Unfortunately, the color of the water and sky looks kind of meh.

I think it might have helped if you would have gotten down lower and forward if possible so less of the near rocky area on the left was visible. I think that would place more emphasis on the waves and foreground rock and less on the sky, which is pretty bland.

I disagree, I think it's fine in black and white. My only suggestion would be to use that rock wall on the left as a leading line into the rest of your image. If you could use a tripod and get a longer exposure time, that would also be a bonus.
