Default Dark halo around sun's reflection

I've tried, unsuccessfully, to remove the haloing around the sun's reflection on the water. Does anybody else find it distracting, or know a way to fix it? Link goes to larger version, where it's more noticeable.

That's a nice shot. I don't find the "haloing" distracting. I wouldn't have noticed it if you didn't mention it. If you want to get rid of it, you could try the clone tool, but it doesn't look like an easy job. Someone better at PP can probably give you a better answer.

I tried to clone it out, but it looked cloned. Also tried various techniques to mask it off from the rest of the shot and make adjustments to it, but none were satisfactory. I'm not sure if I want to spend the time to go pixel-by-pixel. I didn't notice it myself until someone else pointed it out. Maybe I'll just leave it as is. Or, there will always be more sunrises... maybe another shot (if conditions are right to give that same orange glow to the water and sky) won't produce the halos.

Default Halo burst

I actually like what you call a halo but I view more as a starburst around the sun. I really like this shot.

This is a nice shot. I would be very proud of it. The haloing around the reflection can by reduced be denoising. I personally would leave it alone. It's not distracting at all.
