Default Pt. Lobos Cove - Composition question

I'd hoped that the beach in the foreground would provide something of an entry point for the eye to follow into the rest of the image. Now I'm not so sure. I'd like to get comments and thoughts on the composition along with any other thoughts about the exposure and the conversion.

Thanks for any thought and time you bring to this.

Camera Nikon D80
Exposure 0.013 sec (1/80)

I feel it needs a bit more foreground to give it some "depth".

The conversion looks good, although the blacks (rocks in shadow) appear to be a bit blocked up on my uncalibrated monitor.

I think the foreground does provide an entry point, but I feel the crop of the left side is slightly too tight, its almost as though you need a little more beech/rocks to enable the viewer to follow the curve of the sea and cliffs back into the picture, as it is I feel the sea at the mid left creates a bit of a barrier.
The overall expose looks quite good on my screen
but I had a play with your image in PP, duplicated layer, set blend mode to multipy and the lowered the opacity to 30%, but thats just because I like B & W to be darker.

Thanks to Richard and Heather for your thoughts. Heather, I'd be very curious to see your version of the image. Could you post it here or provide a link?

I really like it! I agree that if you framed it a little more loosely, the surge of the tide might be a little more strongly captured & there's a little too much loss of texture in the dark areas but the curve of the coast & the 3 con-trails (?) leading the eye to that beautifully layered distance haze on the horizon are really nice. & I can almost feel the textures in the mid-range...

Took your photo into Photoshop, duplicated layer, set blend mode to multiply and lowered opacity to 30%

Heather -- your image is showing as unavailable. I'd really like to see what you've done. Can you either post it here again or provide a link to your Flickr page? Thanks.

Thanks Heather. I think your taste runs towards darker B/W than does mine. Different strokes . . .
