Default Swiss Alps - HDR

Fuerenalp_Engelburg-2

I took this shot using multiple exposures and doing some HDR processing with Efex Pro.
I am trying to emphasis the town of Engelberg below and trying to keep the scene realistic, but also like my strong contrast. Any critique with regards too much HDRish or is this OTT?
Thanks for your time

Welcome to DPS. Read the rules for the critique sections. If you follow them, you'll get a lot more comments. I really like your picture, by the way.

Default Ahh ... the swiss alps ....

Overall I like your photo, however it seems that the sky and the mountains have very similar colors (maybe from pp?). Therefore the mountains and sky blend into a 'sea' of blue and white.

So maybe cut back some on pp and they will not compete so much for attention of the viewer.

It's a beautiful scene, but I would not have guessed the town is your subject. It's the last thing I notice in your shot. There really is no focal point, as my eye keeps wandering around the image. Also, it looks to me like you jacked up the saturation of the sky and clouds. I think you could crop some of the sky out if you wanted to emphasize the town more.

Welcome to DPS!

I would second what others have said, there are multiple areas of interest in your photo (the town not being one of them) and neither of them seems to be the main subject. You have the mountains, clouds, and that bright snowy area on the right. The clouds and the mountains have the most contrast, and that's why they draw the most attention. To draw attention to the town you would need to do the opposite, lower the contrast of surrounding areas, and possibly darken them a bit. But the image would still lack the main focal point.
