Default Mt. Baker

Beautiful Mt. Baker empowering over the mountains and hills of Bellingham, always keeping an eye on his surrounding cities.

Anything to critique? Correct colors? Straightness? Comments?

Do you guys know of any more sites or photo's that I can expand my horizon album to look like?

By no means am I an advance photographer or anything but I think the buildings take a way from the mountains in the backround and I wasnt sure what you wanted me to focus on. I know the mountains are very beautiful but the buildings take away from the shot. You can take my comment with grain of salt but I think the photo would be a lot better without the buildings.

There's lots to critique here and many things to correct. First thing I noticed are the buildings, and as the previous poster said, it's not clear what your subject is. Is it the buildings and you used the mountain as a background, or is it the other way around. Neither of the two is dominant enough, and the first thing one notices are the buildings. Second, the roofs are leaning to the right, which looks weird and should be corrected by rotating and cropping the photo. Where did you focus btw? The mountain looks a bit out of focus. The colours are not your primary concern here.

Sorry but I really don't understand what are you trying to say here.

Edit: as per Critique Forum Rules, you should include exif information in your post.

Ah, ok. Thank you for your input. I'll edit my initial post now. When I was cropping my photo I tried to align the grass with the picture, but I guess obviously it wasn't that noticeable. Plus I really didn't recognize the buildings until both your posts pointed them out, I'm not sure what to do about those, just find a different location I guess?

But really I wasn't trying to make anything stand out. I thought of it as a very balanced photo and as the depth goes further, the stance it had in my photo kept it well balanced with the foreground (if that makes any sense).

I agree that the buildings are really hurting an otherwise good photo. Having the buildings on a different horizontal plane makes the image disorienting. I would recommend recomposing the shot to eliminate man-made objects next time.

I also find the chopped off trees in the front distracting. A truly balanced photo has a flow to it and that flow leads the eye to your subject (Mt. Baker?) ... there's too much going on in this photo for me ...
