Default Reflections

I was dining at a restaurant in Ocean City, MD and found this nice reflections on the water. I took this shot from a dock. Please comment on the composition and the technical aspects.

That's really nice! It might benefit from rotating the image just by a degree or two counter clockwise & toning down the very bright light in the middle of the image if you can.
P.s. Did you take your tripod to a restaurant? If so, that's class

I think there is too much empty, uninteresting space in the upper half of your photo. I think there was a better way to compose it, by lowering your camera and pointing it down a bit, so the buildings would be in the upper third (or even higher) and the reflections would serve as leading lines to the buildings. Also, you should avoid shooting at the largest aperture, except if you're after some particular effect. Most lenses are sharpest when stopped down by one or two f-stops.

+1 to what milosh said. Most lenses are sharpest around f/8 and you'll get better DOF with that aperture. I would add that in these type of shots, having a distinct building to act as a subject or focal point helps a lot. Right now, there is really nothing for the eye to settle on, even if it is a nice reflection.

Thanks for your inputs... I am not sure why I selected the 5.6 aperture. May be I had the camera on shutter priority and used a 5 sec exposure... I also agree with the composition. I didn't like the empty space on the upper half either.
