Default Night Shot - Composition & Tips to Add Interest?

Would love any feedback or tips to improve this photo. I am really proud of it, but as a photography newbie I would sincerely love to hear how I can improve the image. I've done some minor lightroom editing to it already, but I'm new to LR too and I'm sure there are additional things I could be doing! Thanks in advance. Flatiron Gastown YVR

I think it is a very good long exposure. As a viewer i would like to see the wole upper corner of the roof in the central building, it seems cropped. I also would play with the shadows so that i could lighten the building walls.

Welcome to DPS. It's a cool looking photo, but I'm unsure what you wanted to convey. Is the subject the building or the light streaks? Since you have centered the building, I'll assume that is your subject. Did you want to show how busy it gets at night, or did you just want to show some cool light steaks?

It helps if you tell us what meaning/effect you were going for.

A half - naked, sexy girl never fails to 'add interest' to photos. Especially this one.

Good photo, really, esp for a beginner.

Like Krusty said, though, hard to tell what you are highlighting in this photo. The building is centered, however, a little underexposed for it to be the main subject.

You've got some vignetting going on aroudn the corners of the photo - I don't think it's necessary to add that in this scene. Unless that happened with the shot and not added through post processing...

A person would add interest to this one, being the main subject. You would jsut need to find someone who woudl stand still for a while until you finish the shot.

Thanks so much for the feedback - very much appreciated! To be honest, I wasn't thinking too much regarding what I was trying to convey at the time. Just playing with long exposure and light trails. But, a great point as I see now there are too many things going on in the photo. Vignetting wasn't intentional, I actually think that was from my hood (trying to block out too much excess light from the sensor), and you can see it in the image. Oops! I'll play around with the shadows and lightening the building and see what a difference that might make. Really appreciate the comments!
