I have been shooting for about a month now and lurking for even longer. I took my first attempt at fireworks last night. Any suggestions would be helpful

Here are the guidelines/rules for posting in the critique section. They're chocked full of information on what you should be including in your posts. Thanks in advance for looking at them and including any missing info!!

Looks like you have the same problem I had on the 4th of July - it's hard to fit all of the explosions into the frame. Shooting fewer explosions or at a wider angle should avoid that. Otherwise, it looks good.

Please keep your images at 740 pixels or less on the long side.

I think you captured the fireworks very nicely, but I don't like the fact that there is no other detail in the shot besides the fireworks. Including some of the surroundings (a street, some buildings, ...) would put the fireworks in a better context. Right now, it looks like it originated from nowhere.

I really like this. I don't think it particularly matters that there's no building in the photo as we all know fireworks start off on the ground and if it was the 'explosion' you were trying to capture then I think you've done a fantastic job.
