Default Traffic in a Northern Thai City - Cars going in the wrong Direction?

I saw this scene and liked how - despite the chaos - it looked somewhat ordered. Yet to my disappointment, when watching the photo, my eyes are always drawn to the bottom right corner and not into the picture.

I'm wondering, is it because the way the cars face and how our brain is used to associate a sense of direction with that? Would my eyes be led into the pictures if the cars were driving in the opposite direction or am I thinking too simply here?

All other comments on the photo welcome.

My eyes go the same way. You might be right about the cars, but also there are a lot of brighter things down at the bottom so that might also be drawing the eye.

Thanks for pointing out the bright elements, I didn't consider that to be an 'eye-catcher'.

I think iluv2fly has a valid point. I thinking if my eye would still go to the bottom right if the cars were facing the opposite direction and I think my eye would still go there. It's the only part of the image where I can distinctly see the objects on the road. Once they get past the turn, the road is hard to see and they seem to disappear into the clutter of the city.

Makes a lot of sense to me as well, thanks Krusty.
