Default Rocks and waves....

Hi all, I took this pic in the harbor of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico, I did a large exposure to capture the rocks sharply and to distort the waves

Can you please critic my intention? in general, what's your opinion?

Thanks Art

Tripod? It doesn't look quite as sharp as I think it should. Maybe you should have used f/5.6 for that lens.

I think it needs a bit more water for my taste....The longer exposure time worked well enough for softening the water.... Depending on the "feeling" you were going for I probably would have used an even longer exposure time.

I get what you want trying to do. Perhaps, try to include a bit more water and section the whole frame diagonally, half of it with rocks and half of it with water, but take note of the exposure because in the process of balancing out the exposure, you might end up with the water over expose.

It appears to me that the rocks in the foreground are in focus, and the picture loses focus as it moves toward the water.

I can feel the undertow on my ankles looking at the picture! I'd second the more sea (but only slightly more) & tripod comments. Could you have used a flash for the foreground?

Exactly it is the combination of sharpness on the rock and blurriness on the water
Thanks for your comments
