Default Little Brook

I stopped to take a few photos of this little brook while I was floating down the Buffalo National River in Northern Arkansas. I only had my cheap Kodak point and shoot camera with me.

What I'd like to know is what do you think of the composition?

I have no EXIF data as it was lost during processing.

hi i'm a complete beginner but i'll give this a go! i think if you had moved off to the side a wee bit the comp would have been a bit better ( by the looks of things maybe the left ) i know then you would have lost the litttle waterfall but i really like woodland shots when your eye leads you all the way from a corner at the front to opposite corner at the top but hey thats just me .saying that you've managed to capture a great shot with a point and shoot well done!

Thanks for your input. I took this shot from the boat while we were going up a little side channel. When we got up to the end, I saw this and took the picture. We got out of the boat and walked up to see if there was anything interesting. I tried a few more shots farther up but they didn't seem interesting to me so I deleted them.

Where are you located? The rivers here are quite low due to a lack of rain this summer and are not really floatable now. The best time to float the Buffalo is in late spring early summer. I have a few other shots that were taken lower on the river early in the morning. I may post some of them here someday.

Personally I think less tress, more water would be better composition wise. When I scroll my screen down to where I can't see so much of the trees I find it much more appealing because my eyes go right to the brook.

Looks very peaceful there. TFS

Agree the water and brook get overpowered by too much tree clutter... and also some diagonal lines with the stream would help versus how centered it is. Just two cents, but that is why we are all here! Keep shooting!

Thanks to all who have commented.

EOBeav, yes I would have preferred to have been there when the light wasn't so harsh, but that was not the case. We can't always be there at the right time.
