So as it states I was out trying to capture the last moments of summer before we get hit by our first blizzard. Except for straightening and a crop it is SOOC. I know usually you are supposed to leave more space in the direction of the subject is traveling but I like the wake on the jetski. As a newbie I'm wondering if this is a case where I should break the rule? Any other comments are welcome.

I like the orange glow in the wake, but I still can't decide on the best way to compose this shot, if your composition could be improved. You probably didn't have much time to compose your shots with the jetski speeding around, but I think that if I could recompose the shot, I would place the sun in the left third of the image and try to take the shot when the jetski is under the sun. So basically the same shot you have, but with the sun above the jetski in the left third.
Nice shot, though.

The suggestion of putting the jet ski closer to the sun is a good one. The problem with the picture is your eyes are drawn to the brightness of the sun spray across the water and it tends to kind of drown out the jet ski. It's a really pretty capture, but just doesn't quite come together.
