Default B&W Barn

Alright Im opening myself up here for any and all critisism..Ok lets shorten the list . lets start with subject matter, composition... after that if you have any tech skill points to offer it would be deeply apreciated. This is a convert of a 4/c pano to B&W with some dodge and burn (as to which I have never really done before).

Barn

Camera Nikon D50
Exposure 0.077 sec (1/13)
Aperture f/9.0
Focal Length 78 mm
ISO Speed 200
Exposure Bias 0 EV

Thank you for any and all help recieved and is it my wish to be able to help in return.. Please feel free to explore my flickr page as well. Thanks again..

I am as about as green as green can get when it comes to photography, so I offer nothing in terms of technical advise. As far as composition and subject matter goes..it definitely catches my attention and the detail of the photograph itself keeps my eyes glued to it.

I'm a sucker for B&W, anyway...and I like your shot. It looks pretty damn good to me. I especially like the reflection in the pond...thanks for sharing!

Good exposure and lighting. I'd frame the shot a little more to the left and not let that tree cut off. It's my only distraction in the picture. There's some room to give on the right side.

That crop might work if the reflection of the barn (and it's surroundings) were more prominent. They're not, though, so I might consider leaving that part out. Concerning your focal length, you should be able to go wider (by quite a bit) and not have to resort to stitching it together. If you had better clouds, it would be good to get a lot more of the sky involved.

This is a nice scene and well worth returning to at a different time.

The whole image looks underexposed to me. The whites in your shot do not look truly white. I know my shots look darker after uploading to Flickr sometimes.

I would be tempted to move in closer to see more of the reflection. I think the reflection is more interesting than the trees in the background, so I would want to include more of that and less of the background trees.

First and formost, Thank you all.
I would have loved to have gotten more of the reflection in the pond but, I was kind of limited on how close I could get without breaking any tresspassing laws. (Such is life sometimes) The exposer well lets just say I forgot to reset my exposure compensation. . The barn was alot more dingy that what you see here I brightened it up with the dodge tool. To the left of the bar was a part of a house and somebodies truck. So cut them out. to the right was more field with rolling hils and a very lifeless sky. I felt there was to much negative space there so I cut it out. Overall I was trying for a wider Panorama which would have probably worked better if I had a better sky. The Valley this was taken in isnt very far so I will be going back. thanks again everyone.
