*Yet Another Monochrome Long Exposure Photograph
Hopefully you all can spot the obvious compositional flaw, something I could easily fix by removing the top part of the photograph. :-) Aside from that, I'd like to know your general thoughts about the composition and b/w conversion of this photograph. Thanks in advance for your feedback. I was thinking the horizon, then verified that when I saw your Flickr image. In your shot, my attention is drawn to the plant in the stream that is in focus. The water below is still has that frothy look - did you deliberately used that shutter speed to get that effect? I'm used to seeing the longer shutter speeds where the water has the silky effect, not that I necessarily prefer that style.
Your composition has a nice flow to it. The only thing that bugs me a little is that the water is almost black and gives the image a very contrasty look. However, if that's what you wanted, then you achieved it. Now, are you going to comment on my critique image?

Thanks Krusty. I shot this series between .5 and 1 full second exposure time. Any longer than that, and I tend to lose the detail that I like to get. I do know what you mean about the water in this image looking a little different than the other ones. That might have happened in post. I'm glad you said that your eye settles on that clump of grass. Hopefully you started at the bottom of the image and followed the water flow there. Another reason to chop off the top of the picture.
The darker quality to the water is probably due to the MCP filter that I used, after which I cranked down the level of the blue channel in post. It's definitely contrasty. Too much? I'm deciding on that one. Ok, I'll go check out your photograph now...
