Default Eastern Red Columbine

What do you think about the depth of field, the placement of the flower blossom, and the intensity of the colors?

Depth of field isn't bad. If you had a lens that would have provided a smaller aperture (larger opening) it would have worked better.

I would have prefered the flower to have been in the upper part of the picture and maybe just a little more, though not much, toward center. As it is now, it seems like it's falling out of the picture.

The colors look great.

I see what you're saying about the flower falling out of the picture - unfortunately I can't really crop it any differently because that's pretty much the original - I only cropped out a little of the extra background on the top and Lt side. I will have to keep subject placement more in mind while I'm out shooting. Thanks for your input

I like the composition! Had you been able to keep the stem in focus the balance would have been better. As noted, a better choice of aperture or maybe a different (shorter) focal lenght?
Really like the simplicity of the shot with minimal colors.
