I'd like to see more of a distinct subject here. I'm not sure if it's the reflections or the buildings. Either way, I believe a more compelling subject would improve the image.

When I took this photo, I was looking to capture the river at night. The boat docks were lit up so I figured they might make an interesting subject along with the river and the hills in the background.
I'm thinking of going back out there again to try to take some more. The only problem is, when the dew point is up, there is a very thick blanket of fog that develops over the river. The water here comes from the bottom of Norfork dam and it cools the air quite considerably. I've tried taking pictures with the fog, but it's just too thick to get a decent shot. |

I think if one of the lights/buildings/reflections on the riverbank was more distinctive and eye-catching, it would give my eye something to settle on. Right now, your subjects, the lit-up docks, catch my eye, but don't hold my attention for too long. So, I think you've got a pretty good shot, but your subject could be more compelling, IMO.
You might be able to get some cool fog shots of canoes or boats in the river, even if the opposite bank is not visible. Any boats with lights on at night should leave some cool light trails if it's not too foggy.

I was going to attach a pic that I took one morning while fishing that showed the density of the fog, but I must have deleted it. When I go back, when the dew point finally drops below 60° I'll try to take a shot of the boat docks and make them the prominent subject and post. |
