first off--I'm another Colorado photographer living on the Western Slope. I'm jealous--looks like beautiful terrain. I think the shot looks good, but I'm distracted by the slight blur in the starry sky. I tried shooting my first night time star shots recently and the trial and error killed me. Lots of shot with blurry stars, but not stars streaking through the sky. So, no real advice on sharpening the stars from me, I'm still trying to figure that out.

Completely awesome! I'm equally envious and in admiration.

It looks to me that the blur in the stars is caused by the long exposure. I would also assume that the blur in the foliage in the foreground is also an effect of the length of exposure. I don't know how you could fix this except for using a shorter exposure on a less windy night. All you can really do is give it a try tonight and see what you get.

Yea, they were all caused by the long exposure because I was trying to keep the ISO as low as possible.

Awesome pic. The only thing I didn't like was the blurred foliage. Not sure how to work around that though. Maybe take a second picture with a shorter SS and stack the images?
