Default New to my dslr, technical critique please

I got my DSLR about 6 months ago and I've been having fun learning and trying new things. I was trying to capture the awesome texture of our barn roof. I did some post processing and think it looks pretty good, but I'm looking for any mistakes you can see, or any additional things to try to make it better.

I'm a total noob, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. It feels like either the entire image should focus on the roof or that more of the sky should be showing. The relatively thin sliver of sky makes me want to see more of it, like the image is too heavy on the barn side. It would feel more balanced to me if more of the sky were showing. Or, if you focused entirely on the roof and perhaps squared up the shot and got in closer, you'd really get the texture of the roof and our eyes wouldn't be distracted by anything else.

Then again, if I were shooting the same roof, I'd probably pick the same angle you did! lol See what I mean? Take my thoughts lightly.

Shooting for the texture of the roof, I would have definitely cropped out everything but the roof.
