Plantation style museum in low light

Hello all! At the state park where I work we have a museum for the public that is designed as a plantation style building in the south. During my late shift I captured a series of images. I have attached one for critique. I am fairly new to photography and I really appreciate all forms of critique, things to do different and the likes. Below is the information about the image.

Location and time: Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park, White Springs Florida. The photo was taken at 8:11 pm approximately 1 hour after a brief thunderstorm near the sunset time.

Camera: Kodak easy share C195 14mp and 5x optical zoom.

General information: I specifically took the picture due to the glow caused by the sunset and the rain. I wanted to capture a low light image using only natural light. No flash was used and I used the landscape setting for the shot.

Thoughts?

Not sure what is sticking up in the right hand side of the picture, but it has to go.

I think that if you cropped out some of the foreground grassy area, you'd have a better picture.

Thank you for the information. I did not even realize I had the sign post in the picture. I will clean up the image a bit and see what I can do with it. Any other suggestions? Again I really appreciate the input especially being very new to photography.
