Default Composition and Exposure of Features

Here is a shot from Yellowstone taken a couple of months ago. I was working with grey overcast skies and the sulfur mist coming off from the feature. I do like the shot, but the sky is rather boring. I guess I could crop down a bit more. I am looking for feedback on the composition and overall exposure. Thanks in advance.

Over on the left horizon, I can see some sort of mound that looks to be shrouded in the clouds. I also see some texture in the sky which I assume is clouds. I'd leave it as it is without cropping.

Composition: I'm not sure if this was your only possible view point or if you wanted to frame the feature in between the trees? Whatever is the reason behind this framing, I find I don't like it. If you had two single trees (like the right one), it would be better, but the branches on the left are distracting and blocking the view of the feature. I think it would be better if you used a longer lens and included less of the sky. That being said, maybe you could crop it that way. Besides that, it seems that the horizon is not straight (it's leaning to the left). I think your exposure is fine.

The exposure looks fine. with no blown highlights or blacked up blacks.

Aesthetics:
To me it doesn't have a real subject - something I could hone in on..
Personally I would crop out almost all of the sky.

I wonder how it would have looked shooting from another angle, with and shooting with the sulphur mist back lighted.

It would be a good place to revisit for another shoot!
