I am far from the worlds greatest landscape photographer but here are my two cents:
nice job on the water! I would have lowered my camera and tried to get more of the old building in the background. Maybe walked to the left and closer to the water to really focus more on the waterfall or walked right to have the water flowing towards the camera.

Thanks.
I guess I'll have to drive back up there someday and re-shoot. There is a 40% chance of rain tomorrow so maybe it won't be as sunny as it was the day I shot this pic. I tried to take a few shots to the left and right and didn't like the composition at all. I did try a few taken from a lower perspective, but they didn't turn out too well either since the sun was causing problems with the exposure. It seemed the only place I could get a good shot was in the shadow of the trees along the road. |

I think the lighting is good. I like the water a lot. Like everyone else though, I'd like to see less of the leaves and more of the building in the background.

If the daylight was causing exposure issues I would either try to go during the morning or late afternoon or invest in a ND filter.

As for taking this shot in the morning or afternoon, I'd have loved to have been there then. I really hadn't planned on finding this place. I was more or less just driving around looking for a place to go fishing. I took my camera gear along just in case. |
