Default Suburban Sunset

I shot this sunset this evening.

F/8, 1/750sec, ISO-200, 100mm focal length.

I would welcome any comments regarding the composition and exposure of the photo.

Looks like a storm might have been passing through there. How did the sky look 15 minutes later with the sun on the horizon?

No storm at all - in fact, it was a very still and clear day.

Here is the last picture I took - 7 minutes after the one above.

Landscape photography is all about opportunity. Sometimes you get the colors you're looking for, sometimes you don't. If you had those bright, vibrant colors, it's possible you didn't get them out all the way when processing. Or, this was as good as it got that night and you need to return a better night.
