Default East Carson River

500px / Photo "East Carson River" by Jessi Brendel

A cold January evening overlooking the Carson River. Slightly adjusted in post processing to correct the haze, bring out some of the shadows and increased the warmth just a tad...

Would you add more warmth? Keep it cool? Crop somehow? Tell me what you think!

I think the current colors fit this stark landscape. I like the different earth tones in your image. My only criticism is that there is no real focal point in the image to hold my eye.

Well, I think there is a focal point, and that's the darkened shadowy area where the river disappears around the curve and behind the hill; there's a bit of mystery: What's around the bend?

I like the frosty trees, distinctly a different texture/feel from the rest of the landscape. I'd have wanted you to move your image upward a little to catch some of that blue sky and provide a contrast with other textures, colors, and feels.

Default Thank you!

Thanks for the ideas - I wish I had originally shot it wider so I could include more of the sky, but unfortunately, it was all cloudy and grey anyway, so I didn't even shoot it.

And as far as not having a focal point... welcome to the Nevada high desert, LOL!

I'll find the original and see what else I can do with it. Thanks again!

I like it - I wish the frosty trees were in better focus in the front. I would also play with levels and curves to make it pop a bit more ... nice though ...
