Default Common Street

I was driving my son to his karate dojo when I noticed a street from a different perspective. I had driven this road hundreds of times over the past 10 years but never saw it like I did today. The power poles seemed to make a tunnel, and the road that curves seems to almost be an escape route out of the "tunnel." So my questions are thus:

1. Is it an interesting composition?

2. Was it a good photograph (or could it be a good photograph with a better photographer )?

3. What advice on finding new perspectives can you offer?

street tunnel

Exposure 1/60
Aperture f/8.0
Focal Length 100 mm
ISO Speed 200
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Flash Auto, Did not fire
Levels adjusted using PE 7

Thanks in advance! =)

Sadly its too busy. There is no "real" subject so everything in the photo gets lost.
Try a quieter street!

What if you went portrait and from a much lower vantage point? This would cut out the busyness on the side and could give you that tunnel effect you thought of. You could also use your center lines to draw the eye into the picture.

You may run into a problem with the house on the end of the street but it is worth a try.

Just an idea.

To better get the tunnel effect, I'd try moving back quite a bit and using a longer lens. (This only works if you don't end up in somebody's living room. )

By changing your distance, you'll move the power poles closer together, exaggerate the catenary arcs of the power lines, and quite possibly increase the "roof" effect of the lines crossing the street.

If you can get to the right place (and if the poles and wires continue for for enough to allow the shot, I think you might get something interesting.
