Default First sunset attempt

I was out driving around last night and saw that the sunset was going to be photo worthy, so I raced to a favorite spot. I didn't even have time to get out of the car, but I got 2 good shots, especially for my first time. I know I am only to post 1 pic, but I posted 2 so you could compare.

I would like to know about the composition of each and if in the second one the vapor trails in the sky are interesting or distracting. I would also like to hear any other comments. I only increased the saturation a bit in each.
Thanks.

I like the composition of the second one best, but the vapor trails are distracting... They wouldn't be too hard to ps out though... Great shots!

I like the colors in the 2nd one better but agree about the vapor trails. I think maybe a bit more grass at the bottom of the photo might be able to add to the interesting factor. As for the first shot, the tree to the far left is barely in the photo. I'd suggest composing the shot to either get the whole tree in the photo or crop it out completely.

I like the first one.

I also like the second one better due to color. The vapors are a distraction though. You did a great job.

I'm in agreement, the composition of the second one is better (imho) but lose the vapor trails.
