Im just a beginner with wide lens. I wish to have an expert critique the shot.

I think your composition works well. The building facade and the traffic bollards lead your eye directly to the no-entrance sign in the palace gate. Also, the color is rich and interesting, and the depth of field works well with the subject. Most importantly (to me, anyway) is that the subject is interesting, suggesting a story and providing a glimpse of the exotic.

The only thing I might try is moving in a bit closer to the gate (assuming that's possible and safe). I think you can get the same leading lines with a tighter composition and more detail in your subject. The down side is that you would lose some of the effect of the expanse of the front of the building, so if that's important to what you're trying to communicate, you probably wouldn't want to make the change.

Very clean, coherent photo of an interesting subject.

Nice job using leading lines. My only suggestion is that, once those lines get me to the building, I want to see more of it. To accomplish that, I might have simply rotated my body about 45 degrees to the right and shot from there. Thanks for the post.
