Default Bavaro Beach

Just got back from vacation in Dominican Republic....
I like this shot, however, I think that the sand inthe lower half of the photo may be overexposed.. Any suggestions how I might improve on this type of shot?

Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T2i
F-stop: f/10
Exposure: 1/250 sec.
ISO: 100
Focal Length: 18mm

Did you use a polarizer? If not, that may have helped. I live in the Florida sun and rarely go out without my polarizer. I now have some ND filters as well. LOVE them. Save my arse many times.

Love the shot by the way. Thanks for sharing.

I think this is one of those images where the rule of thirds will help tremendously. With a centered horizon and a centered tower, it's rather boring. Cropping the image will help but it might have been better to take the shot a bit closer to the tower so the horizon was a bit higher in the composition and the tower was in the right 1/3 of the image. This would make the tower more "powerful" and also help make you wonder what the guy in the tower is looking at.

I cropped your image to kind of show what I mean. If you want me to remove it, just let me know. Hope that helps!
