Smile A View of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I came to this place, to get this shot twice. At my first attempt, I was not lucky enough, as the whether condition was so bad. Gloomy and moody sky. Feel not satisfied, then I went to this place again and got lucky enough to get this shot. You also can see the Petronas Twins Towers (KLCC) at the end of the highway.

Technical Details:

Camera: Canon EOS1000D + Kit Lens
Exposure: 2.8
Aperture: f/11.3
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 100

About:
Kuala Lumpur is the capital and the largest city in Malaysia by population. The city proper, making up an area of 243 km2 (94 sq mi), has a population of 1.4 million as of 2010.Greater Kuala Lumpur, also known as the Klang Valley, is an urban agglomeration of 7.2 million. It is the fastest growing metropolitan region in the country, in terms of population and economy.

More about Kuala Lumpur

Feel free to critique my shot.

Hello there,

as Windrider said, you should take a look at critique forum rules and edit your post accordingly.

I like the photo because of all the detail in it and the nice exposure you achieved. It doesn't look to much like an HDR for me. My only critique is that your horizon is leaning to the left, you should rotate it and crop it.

I agree with the horizon not being level. However, that's easily fixed. I like this shot a lot, even though the sky doesn't look realistic. You have so much going on in this shot, you could actually get two good shots out of it. This must look great when viewed full screen. The shot is definitely busy, some might say too busy, but I can't really criticize you for including so many interesting things to look at in this image. I hope to see more of your shots.

Apart from the skewed horizon I have very little negative to say about it. I think it's a fantastic shot and I agree it would look fantastic as an enlargement.

It would look great as two shots, one being with a horizontal crop just so the highway is cut off revealing only the cityscape and the sky.

The other shot could be the cityscape and the highway.

But having both the highway and cityscape and sky in it makes it too busy.

Very Nice! I love everything that's going on in this photo - speaks to the busy and crowded nature of any large city. Straighten it out and maybe experiment with your processing to make that sky softer, let all the nuance in it come through. Great job!
