So I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but I just wanted a critique on the shot over all. I think I could have left a little more space at the bottom but I was completely fascinated by this window. How would YOU have taken it to make it more interesting or is it good the way it is.
![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Nikon D90 1/30 f25 Auto white balance ISO (sesativity?) 1600. I don't know why my camera always thinks the ISO must be 1600 when in auto. I'm sure it's a setting but the D90 is brand new to me!! |

Yikes, probably because your aperture's stopped down to f/25. You shouldn't need more than f/8 - f/11 (maybe less than that) to keep this all in sharp focus, and you'll allow much more light in. Your camera's bumping the ISO as high as it can to compensate for the small aperture.
As for the photo, it is an interesting window; I think personally the photo might be more interesting with more of the wall showing, and the window out of the center of the frame (upper-left, perhaps?).

Check page 166 of the D90 manual for the ISO Sensitivity Auto Control to start. You should be able to set the ISO max at 400 (or less), and use Aperture mode.
As far as the photo, nice except tilted to the right. You might enable the grid display to ensure your subject is level, but otherwise a nice photo. The colors snap nicely. George D90, too many lenses to list P7000 Coolpix as a carry-around camera |

I like this window, too! Depending on what's going on with the wall, I might have included more of the blue wall (because it's a fantastic color!) and placed the window a bit more at the top right to draw the eye upwards. However, I don't know if the wall would have been appropriate for this or not.
