I really like how the sun is coming through the clouds. If you took 3 shots try auto braketing and HDR photography. I have a T1i so I know your camera is capable of it and I have gotten some great results. Just make sure you use a tripod so each photo is lined up perfectly. Photomatix is an HDR program that is easy to use and gives you a free trial. With it you would pick up more detail in the water and buildings. Also you could straignten the photo a bit so the horizon is level.

Auto bracketing is a camera feature that lets you automatically take several consecutive photos with different exposure settings. So, you set up you camera to take photos at 1 EV between them, for example, and when you press the shutter button, it takes three photos in a sequence, one at 0 EV, one at +1 EV and one at -1 EV, for example.
Regarding your photo, the first thing I noticed is the leaning horizon. You should try to avoid that, as it looks very unnatural. Second, I know you wanted to express drama in your photo, but that can also be achieved without underexposing so much of your photo. The dark, almost black areas (the upper left corner and the horizon, the buildings) act as attentions magnets, weakening the positive effects of your photo. It's a fine line between getting it right and underexposing or doing something else wrong, a fine line which takes practice while shooting and some post-processing skills to master. |

But this photo is perfect for a conversion to Black and White. I like the idea of of the photo. Also as suggested the auto-bracketing / HDR option would work great no doubt. But the colours in this image are a bit flat so could I suggest a B+W conversion? I think it would come out great.
Nice shot though

This could be awsome! The subject is great!
I agree with milosh's comments above. I don't know what you shot it in (RAW or JEPG) but this is a great subject for HDR or for blending. You can manually create three copes of the same shot in postprocessing just select the option where you can adjust the exposure and save one at -2 stops and one at +2 stops of the original and then use a software such as Photomatix to produce the HDR shot. Alternatively you could try blending exposures in Lightroom (if you can get your hands on a copy of the software) with the plugin L/R Enfuse. It's a fantastic subject that can be extensively explored in post processing! Well done on capturing it! Now it's time to play!
