Hi All,
I happen to capture Clouds with Hoya Polarizer for the first time. Please comment on the pics and let me know if there is any technical corrections I need to make. Is there anything I should do to make the pics aesthetically pleasing. Nikon D5000 aperture : f/10 focal length : 18mm Hoya Polarizer used. Thanks Jain Last edited by jainjoy; 06-06-2011 at 09:33 AM. |

My humble amateur opinion...
The first thing I saw was the tendency of the buildings on the left and right to lean inwards. What lens did you use - fisheye? The photo look a bit under exposed, the clouds lacks brilliance if that is the right word for it. Regards - Albert

Hi Albert,
Thanks for the comment. I used 18-55 lens. Not sure why the building looks to lean inwards. I used a polarizer filter, so may be a stop or two the pic is underexposed. Any suggestion to make the skies much appealing? Thanks Jain |

The bright sky has caused the ground to be underexposed. You could get a graduated ND filter to address that or do exposure blending. Did you experiment shooting at different angles? Your polarizer will have the greatest effect at a 90 degree angle relative to the sun. The only other suggestion I have for the sky is to shoot in the golden hours.
