Hi, guys.

I newbie in the world of photo. So, here is my attempt to save great moment of my life. I'm open for fair critique! Could you please give me some advise on composition, format of photo, angle of shot. Maybe I should be aware of some light specific issues?

Hello there,

I'm not sure why is the right pillar so much lower than the left one. I know they're the same (I have a photo of the same bridge, here: Budapest Twilight), and even if the difference is just a perspective thing, it still looks way too small to me. Other than that, I think your photo is leaning slightly to the right, straightening it would bring up the right pillar a bit.

I think it is more a case of perspective as you say. Straightening the shot will not help as it will render the horizon skew and you don't want that. The emphasis of the shot tend to make one a bit "uncertain". Do you want to put the emphasis on the bridge or the buildings at the back. You actually have two shots/ideas in one and one's eyes tend to jump up and down between the bridge and the building at the back. One way in solving this problem, is to recompose the picture all together. By moving to the left, not to much, will line up the pillars of the bridge more and lessen the tendency of the bridge leaning towards the right. It will also put more emphasis on the bridge and less on the building in the background. You could also lower the angle of the shot, which I think will also lessen the tendency of the pillars to "fall over"
I am just curious - how would this picture of the bridge look like if you shoot it from the other side of the river?
In general I think this is a very good shot!

Regards - Albert
